NURSING ADJUNCT INSTRUCTOR (PART-TIME)

The Tennessee College
of Applied Technology Crump is accepting applications for the part-time position
of Practical Nursing Adjunct Instructor located at the Crump/Parsons Campuses.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must hold active licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee; BSN preferred.
Minimum three (3) years of full-time experience in the nursing field within the last five (5) years.
Minimum three (3) years current clinical nursing experience
Teaching experience preferred
Instructor must have sincere interest in teaching and nursing, enjoy working with people, and have the ability to deal tactfully with people
Instructor must have a high standard of personal and professional ethics and possess an understanding and appreciation of the role and scope of the school and program purpose
GENERAL DUTIES:
The adjunct practical
nursing instructor, under the direction of the Coordinator of Nursing along
with the PN faculty, shall be responsible for assisting in planning,
developing, initiating, and teaching the approved instructional program for
practical nursing students in both the classroom and clinical setting. In addition, the adjunct practical nursing
instructor shall maintain appropriate program and student records for
documentation and evaluation; provide individual evaluation of each student’s
progress with counseling and appropriate recommendations when required;
supervise students’ clinical experiences as scheduled; and maintain good public
relations with clinical partners. The adjunct instructor will also assist with student
placement and student follow-up; participate in recruitment of students; cooperate
with outside agencies; work with program advisory committees; conduct visits to
related business and industry; and establish and maintain good public relations
within the college’s service area. Some
travel is required.
SALARY: Commensurate with Tennessee College of Applied Technology salary
guidelines.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Use of computer
Normal standing, sitting, and walking
Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, stoop, stand and work, with or without accommodation, to demonstrate and perform all work-based projects.
Operating a motor vehicle to travel within the college service area and in other areas as needed.
