Rivkin Radler LLP is seeking a Litigation Paralegal for its Uniondale, Long Island office. The candidate should have a background and experience working in a litigation firm. Must be proactive and have excellent organizational, scheduling and calendaring skills. The ability to multi-task, manage a large caseload and work in a fast-paced environment is also required.
The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of federal and state statutes, rules, and procedures pertaining to electronic court filings and systems (NYSCEF)
Primary duties include:
- Drafting of routine court documents such as Notices of Appearances, Pro Hac Vice Motions, Notices of Motions, Subpoenas, Stipulations and other general court documents.
- Compile and/or draft legal documents for review and use by attorneys such as routine discovery responses and affidavits.
- E-File documents via NYSCEF and PACER.
- Prepares exhibits and other demonstrative evidence.
- Organize, analyze, chart and/or index, claim information, documents and/or exhibits for motion practice.
- May assist attorneys in preparation of materials for witnesses for deposition and/or trial concerning general matters.
- Review documents for relevance and privilege in preparation for disclosure.
- Review, categorize and analyze reports, records, data and discovery responses.
- Capture and record billable time in accordance with policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- At least 3+ years relevant experience.
- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
- Ability to handle multiple time-sensitive tasks.
- Ability to work with multiple attorneys.
- Ability to work with large document intensive cases.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and KOFAX Professional.
- Working knowledge of Lexis Advance and/or Westlaw
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate.
We are seeking an individual who will be a fast learner with the ability to multi-task, and will demonstrate a high level of responsibility, teamwork and dedication to accuracy and thoroughness in work product.
Compensation:
- Annualized salary range: $55,000 - $75,000
- Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law
Hybrid Hours:
Monday-Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm, with an hour lunch. Flexibility to work overtime when needed.
