Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable Turf Application Specialist to join our team.  As a Turf Application Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and beauty of our clients’ lawns by providing quality turf applications and advice on lawn care practices. We are looking for someone with interest and experience in turf care, lawn health, and who displays a passion for landscaping. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and other products to promote healthy and attractive lawns
  • Maintain accurate records of turf applications and follow safety guidelines
  • Inspect lawns and diagnose problems such as pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies
  • Develop and implement plans to address lawn issues and improve turf quality
  • Maintain garden beds by removing weeds, pruning shrubs and trees, and mulching, when needed
  • Plant flowers, shrubs, and trees as directed by the crew leader
  • Able to work independently or on a team for efficient project completion
  • Lift 50-75 pounds on a routine basis
  • Perform snow and ice removal tasks seasonally, when needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the field.
  • Having an IL Department of Agriculture Pesticide Applicators License is a plus. We value continuing education and are willing to support you in obtaining the license if you don't currently have one
  • Sales and/or customer service experience beneficial
  • Strong mechanical skills are desirable, as this role involves working with machinery and equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor for extended periods of time
  • Have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and clean driving record
  • Willingness to learn and expand skills
  • Flexibility to work in varying weather conditions
  • Willing to assist in additional responsibilities, as needed
