Quakertown Veterinary Clinic (QVC) is seeking dedicated and compassionate Overnight Veterinary Assistants to join our small animal team!

What You’ll Do
As an Overnight Veterinary Assistant, you’ll be a key part of our after-hours care team—supporting veterinarians and technicians while helping ensure patients remain stable, comfortable, and well cared for through the night.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting veterinarians and technicians during exams and treatments
- Safely restraining and handling pets with care and confidence
- Performing basic in-house lab work, nail trims, and sample collection (urine/fecal)
- Administering subcutaneous fluids, SQ injections, and oral medications
- Preparing and maintaining surgical suites and hospital equipment
- Taking radiographs under the direction of a doctor or technician
- Accurately filling prescriptions and managing refill requests
- Communicating clearly with clients to provide support and education
- Entering patient notes and charges into the hospital database system
Schedule & Availability
We offer full-time and part-time overnight positions.
Typical shifts include:
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 5:00 PM – 3:00 AM
Overnight team members play a vital role in continuous patient care and emergency response.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with and restraining animals (preferred)
- Strong customer service skills (required)
- Ability to stay organized and focused in a fast-paced or emergency setting
- A self-starter who can work independently overnight while still collaborating with the team
- Physical ability to:
- Lift up to 40 lbs regularly
- Assist with lifting up to 150 lbs (with team support)
- Handle and walk large dogs
