Job Description

TITLE:                                    Equipment Maintenance Technician



REPORTS TO:                       Equipment Maintenance Manager



JOB FUNCTION:                   The Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing day-to-day service and maintenance of fitness equipment in Orangetheory Fitness (OTF) studios across the Dallas – Fort Worth area. This position ensures member safety by promptly repairing non-functional equipment and performing regularly scheduled preventative maintenance on all studio fitness equipment. This includes assisting the Equipment Maintenance Manager with any projects and tasks as required.



FLSA CLASSIFICATION:      Full time, Non Exempt



 




ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES





  • Successfully perform fitness equipment repair and maintenance as outlined by supervisor and requested by studio

  • Communicate with studio management to solve and repair equipment related complaints or failures

  • Perform regular studio walk-throughs, identifying repair/service needs and maintaining the studio’s Maintenance Log

  • Assist in the procurement and maintenance of an inventory of treadmill, rower, and floor parts, materials, tools and equipment

  • Leverage current technology platforms to create an efficient documentation process to track equipment (serial numbers), maintenance (repair requests), and historical data (replaced parts). Refresh and streamline current processes and documentation to efficiently and properly track preventative care and repairs

  • Assist in the implementation of efficient request processes in collaboration with the regional fitness team. Provide guidance and support on developing equipment maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures based on unique studio needs.

  • Attend and maintain active and relevant technical training certifications required to safely and properly perform duties and responsibilities

  • Ability to work weekends and after-hours as needed to perform repairs in a timely manner, keeping the company’s best interest in mind

  • Report status on progress and obstacles to supervisor on a daily basis

  • Assist other equipment and maintenance personnel as needed

  • Ability to operate equipment safely and correctly

  • Ability to use general cleaning products and tools to properly clean work area when tasks are completed.

  • Must be able to sit, stand, reach, kneel and bend.

  • Must be able to bend at the waist, lay horizontally, climb, walk, etc. as the position requires in order to properly perform job duties, with or without an accommodation.



 



 




  • Must be able to regularly lift, push and/or move 25 pounds

  • Must be able to frequently lift, push and/or more 65 pounds

  • Must be able to occasionally lift, push and/or move 100 pounds (with assistance)

  • Must be able to reach and move items above shoulder height

  • The ability to use hands to grasp, finger, handle and/or feel

  • Must be able to climb a ladder and step ladder

  • Travel in the designated region required up to 90%

  • Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
