Job Title: PROCUREMENT BUYER

SUMMARY:

The Procurement Buyer will be sourcing and purchasing materials, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery to keep projects on budget and schedule. Monitor costs, ensure materials meet quality and safety and DOD construction standard requirements. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and the project team and work under the direction of the Project Manager.

Tasks and Capabilities Required:

• Source and purchase all necessary materials, equipment, and subcontractor services for construction projects.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, and lead times with suppliers to secure the most cost-effective solutions and help ensure project profitability.
• Evaluate potential new suppliers, manage relationships with existing ones, and monitor their performance to ensure reliability and quality.
• Ensure all purchased materials comply with project specifications, health and safety guidelines, and quality standards.
• Coordinate material delivery schedules to ensure they arrive on-site when needed and are aligned with the project timeline.
• Prepare and maintain purchase orders, keep detailed records of all transactions, and report on the cumulative cost of purchases.
• Liaise with project managers, cost planners, and other team members to stay informed about project needs and risks.
• Stay up-to-date on market conditions, trends, and new materials to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Must be able to clear all requirements to enter US-Base. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Strong negotiation skills, and analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships.
• Proficiency with computer software, including MS Office (especially Excel), and knowledge of procurement principles.
• Ability to manage a budget and track expenses.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deliveries.
• Knowledge in maximo application system is an advantage.
