The International Institute of New England (IINE) is a non-profit organization that provides humanitarian relief, education, skills training, job placement, family reunification and pathways to citizenship for 2,000 immigrants and refugees each year. We work in Boston and Lowell, Massachusetts, and Manchester, New Hampshire.

IINE is the oldest and second largest resettlement agency in the region and has the largest Central American family reunification program in Greater Boston. More than 500 refugees and immigrants enroll in our education programs annually, and each year we connect hundreds of new Americans to jobs in New England companies.

Reports to: Program Administrator

Status: Non-Exempt, Full Time

Duration: Temporary position ending September 30,2026

Overview

The Outreach and Intake Specialist supports the Programs team by ensuring IINE�s presence in the community and recruiting clients. The position will be responsible for weekly outreach, attendance at Lowell events, and supporting client referrals. The objective of this role is to enroll clients in IINE services and ensure IINE�s presence in the Lowell community.

Responsibilities

  • Attend weekly Lowell events in person and remotely as required.
  • Table at Lowell events
  • Ensure IINEs presence at community events
  • Host workshops and trainings for community partners as needed
  • Conduct weekly outreach to Lowell community partners to share programming and recruit clients
  • Assist with outreach to employers and community partners
  • Document all community outreach and partnerships in Apricot
  • Support development of community outreach documentation
  • Ensure data is accurate, completing regular data entry quality assurance.
  • Assist with virtual and in-person client orientations, workshops, classes, and clinics as needed
  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings and periodic training sessions.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by supervisor

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills required, Asana experience a plus
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and effective communicator.
  • Ability to prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in additional languages strongly preferred, particularly Haitian Creole or Spanish.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor�s or Associates Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience in data entry and administration.
  • Experience working with immigrant populations preferred.
  • Candidate must have dedication to the human rights of refugees, immigrants, and asylees.

Work Environment Conditions

  • Frequent interruptions from employees and clients.
  • Required office work including exposure to bright, office lighting.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds on occasion.
  • Occasional bending, reaching overhead, and reaching at or below shoulder level required.
