Maine Oxy is currently looking to fill a Cylinder Filler position. This is a full-time year-round position with a great opportunity to grow if you are interested in the industry. This is a Monday-Friday 7 AM-4 PM shift with opportunities for voluntary overtime.
Pay Rates: Our starting pay is $22/hour. We also provide a $1 shift differential for hours worked after 4:30pm weekdays (and any *rare* weekend work also gets the $1 shift diff for hours worked any time Saturdays and Sundays). If a qualifying Winter storm impacts our location in Auburn, there is also an *additional* $1 Winter differential. All new hires in these roles will be eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus (paid in increments).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect cylinders prior to filling, following standard procedures as required by government, Maine Oxy, and distributor standards.
- Prepares pressure cylinders and cryogenic vessels for filling: Attaches to manifold, evacuates cylinders to eliminate all possible contaminants.
- Fills cylinders by pressure and weight, per regulations and standards.
- Manually sets calibrations to analyze selected cylinders for purity, dew point, and other required qualities.
- Conducts a variety of Safety checks per procedures, such as odor tests, checking caps and valves.
- Accurately labels cylinders.
- Completes daily fill sheets for every type of gas, as required by DOT, FDA, and Maine Oxy.
- Learns the hazards of various gases; size and contents of cylinders by reading and interpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks.
- Unload/load trucks.
- Compiles with all government and company standards relating to the safe handling of hazardous materials/cylinder gases.
- Will be trained in regards to 49CFR173.34 and CGA pamphlets C-5, C-6, C-6.1, C-6.2, C-6.3, C-13, S-1.1
- Must demonstrate the capability of external visual inspection according to CGA pamphlet C-6. (Will be trained)
