Job Description

Job Overview

This position performs a variety of labor and customer service functions in various sub-departments within the Arts, Agriculture and Education Department.


Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:

· Assist in the set-up, maintenance, and tear down of exhibits.

· Perform manual labor involved in the installation of exhibits and interactives.

· Clean and maintain exhibits, which may include using tools and equipment.

· Assist with family activities.

· Interact with guests to provide accurate information and assistance to ensure guests have an enjoyable experience.

· Keep abreast of information to answer questions and concerns with timely and knowledgeable responses in person or on the phone.

· Practice good physical work methods, utilize good work habits, and meet established production standards.

· Wear proper personal protective equipment (e.g., gloves, googles) and maintain a safe work environment.

· Perform other related duties as assigned or requested when needed.

· Engage with fair guests in a friendly and welcoming manner. Answer questions and provide information about the exhibit.

· Assists in promoting our fair values by creating quality guest experiences for both internal and external customers. 

· Promotes the District's F.A.I.R. values by creating a quality guest experience for both internal and external customers.


Qualifications

· Excellent customer service and ability to work cooperatively with team members and others.

· Ability to follow oral and written instructions.


Working Conditions

· Work is indoors and outdoors.

· Outdoor work may involve exposure to weather conditions.

· Exposure to dust, dirt, unpleasant odors, and animals.

· Move objects up to 30 pounds. Push/pull heavy objects.

· Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
