Job Description
ASC Engineered Solutions is looking for an Inventory Control Manager that will be responsible for overseeing all inventory activities at our Columbia, PA manufacturing facility. This role ensures accurate inventory levels, effective material flow, optimized storage practices, and alignment with production schedules. The manager will lead the inventory control team, demonstrate safe work practices, implement best-in-class processes and drive continuous improvements to support operational efficiency, cost reduction and service reliability.

How You Will Help

Inventory Management & Accuracy:
  • Oversee all inventory operations including receiving, shipping, material handling, storage, cycle counting and reconciliation.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP/MRP system.
  • Analyze inventory discrepancies to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs related to inventory accuracy, turns and shrinkage.
  • Ensure appropriate inventory levels are stocked at work cells for continuous production flow.
Process & Systems Management:
  • Lead the execution and improvement of inventory control procedures aligned with ISO, OSHA and internal audit standards.
  • Partner with procurement, production and engineering to optimize material flow and material storage.
  • Develop, implement and refine inventory policies for stocking, replenishment, min/max settings and safety stock.
  • Support ERP/MRP system enhancements, data integrity, and user training.
  • Maintain system accuracy by ensuring timely and correct inventory transactions.
Leadership & Team Development:
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate inventory control staff, material handlers and cycle count personnel.
  • Establish a culture of accuracy, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to resolve inventory and material flow issues impacting production.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Use Lean tools such as 5S, root cause analysis, and value-stream mapping to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Drive initiatives to reduce carrying costs, enhance material visibility and improve warehouse organization.
  • Participate in plant-wide CI projects and support operational efficiency goals.
  • Coordinate with corporate logistics team to utilize most cost effective means for freight movement.
Compliance & Safety:
  • Ensure all inventory and warehouse processes comply with safety regulations and heavy industrial equipment standards.
  • Maintain proper documentation for audits, quality inspections and regulatory compliance.


What You Will Bring

Required: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of inventory management experience in a heavy industrial, metalworking, chemical, automotive or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Infor, etc.).
  • Proven experience with cycle counting, physical inventories and inventory accuracy improvement.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-mix/low-volume or high-volume manufacturing environment.

Preferred:
  • APICS/CPIM certification.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement programs.
  • Familiarity with operating forklifts, overhead cranes or other heavy material-handling equipment.
