Position Overview
The Payroll Tax Specialist will be directly involved in all functions of the payroll tax department. This person will assist internal employees with questions relating to Federal, State, and Local taxation. The person in this position will assist with payroll tax reconciliation, reporting and audits, responding to internal tax inquiries, and assisting with payroll processing when necessary.

Responsibilities of a Payroll Tax Specialist:

  • Research and respond to employee tax issues/questions
  • Entering federal, state, and local employee tax forms
  • Multiple Worksite Reporting
  • Tax Check Requests
  • Manage SUI and local rates
  • Requesting and monitoring agency refunds
  • Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Annual Audits
  • Pennsylvania Local Taxes
  • Quarter End processing
  • Year End processing
  • Research and respond to tax notices
  • Close accounts for predecessor companies
  • Complete verification of employment
  • Perform daily reconciliation of payroll system and ADP invoicing


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of payroll tax experience
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (ie. Pivot Tables and V-Lookups)
  • Experience with Workday payroll software
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
