Description
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sewing Inspectors must learn to read daily schedule and accurately identify various styles listed.
- Visual inspection for cosmetic appearance and uniformity must be performed for each piece to include the following:
- Fabric must be free of flaws and any defects.
- Fabric must be the same shade and uniformity on backs, arms, seats and ottomans.
- Stitch count, spacing, seams, etc are checked for half-inch standard unless otherwise specified.
- Welt, gathers, seams and two-needle must be straight, level and uniform.
- Dimensions, seams, pleats, straight and curved runs are all checked for proper measurements and consistency.
- Inspector completes daily quality defect sheet and/or other recordkeeping if required.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Basic reading and writing skills required.
- Ability to read, understand and communicate the English language.
- Must be able to correctly identify colors and styles.
SAFETY
- Personal Protection Equipment should be worn at all times within the department as well as throughout the plant where designated.
- Safety is enforced each day to prevent any accidents.
