    Position Overview

    College Achieve Public Schools is seeking a dedicated School Nurse to serve at the high school from April 23, 2026 to November 9, 2026. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality health services to students and staff.


    Key Responsibilities

    The School Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive medical support to school-age students and managing a wide range of daily health-related tasks. This role requires the ability to assess student needs, respond to medical situations, and collaborate with school staff and families to ensure student well-being.  

      Specific duties and responsibilities include:  

     

    • Conducting student hearing and vision screenings
    • Educating students on hygiene and safety practices
    • Dispensing prescription medications to students per physician instructions
    • Verifying vaccination records and maintaining accurate records
    • Monitoring student health
    • Administering first aid and CPR
    • Treating minor injuries such as cuts, scrapes and bruises
    • Contacting parents/guardians when students are ill or injured
    • Collaborating with the athletic department and school administration on student health matters.
    • Collaborating with the school health department for regular check ins and compliance at both beginning and end of the school year.
    • Working with the school physician to support student athletes' physical exams. 

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field
    • Current NJ license as a Registered Nurse (RN)
    • Current CPR certification
    • School Nurse certification  
    • Supervisory or leadership experience in school or community health settings preferred
    • Must pass a criminal history background check

    Compensation & Benefits

    • 300 per day
