As a Technical Expert at Everest, the Senior Risk Manager will serve as a hybrid subject matter expert possessing developed knowledge in enterprise risk frameworks operating across multiple jurisdictions. Working under minimal supervision, this role requires the latitude for independent judgment to manage a range of multi-jurisdictional risk related tasks. The incumbent will coordinate and contribute to specific risk processes, such as the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) cycles, risk policy development, risk appetite development and monitoring etc.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Management

  • Risk Process Coordination: Coordinate and lead the daily activities regarding the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process across various business units under the direction of the CRO. Contribute to updates of local risk and control registers. Contribute to review and update of local risk policies and risk appetite monitoring.

  • Loss Data & KRIs: Manage the collection of internal loss data and the monitoring of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs). Analyse trends to identify emerging vulnerabilities.

  • Process Improvement: Proactively recommend and implement improvements to the operational risk framework and data collection tools to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy.

  • Risk Partnering: Perform risk partnering and oversight alongside the Branch Senior Management as required.

Leadership & Knowledge Sharing

  • Guidance: Serve as a resource and share knowledge with the workgroup and business owners regarding risk taxonomy and control standards.

Competencies & Criteria

  • Knowledge: Has developed knowledge and skills in Risk Management. Demonstrates ability to share knowledge with the workgroup. Continues acquiring higher-level skills.

  • Scope: May coordinate and lead daily activities of small teams or workgroups. Recommends and implements improvements.

  • Impact: Works with minimal supervision. Opportunity for independent judgment and to recommend changes in process that may improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Actuarial Science, or Finance.

  • Experience: 5+ years experience in a Risk Management function within the insurance/reinsurance market, with exposure to European, Bermudan or Singaporean regulated entities preferred. Exposure to senior management or regulator interaction a plus.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of Solvency II, MAS, CBI, BMA or equivalent risk management regulation.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) tools.

  • Certifications: Relevant professional designations (e.g., CERA, IRM, PRM, FRM) are preferred.

For the US Only:

The base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $145,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location. All offers include access to a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
