Job Description

About the role

We are seeking a hands-on Director of IT to lead and scale Lyte’s IT infrastructure and operations. This role is responsible for building a secure, reliable, and scalable IT environment that supports a growing technology company.

This is a senior leadership role for someone who can set direction, build standards, and lead a team, while staying close enough to the work to drive execution and make strong technical decisions. The ideal candidate has led IT in a technology company with hundreds of employees, preferably in an environment that includes both hardware and software development.

What you'll do

  • Company-wide IT operations, including end-user support, devices, systems, enterprise tools, and network infrastructure
  • Identity and access management across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and related security controls
  • Administration and support of macOS, Windows, and Linux environments
  • Endpoint management, patching, device security, vulnerability management, and operational IT controls
  • Partnership with cross-functional teams to support Information Security program execution, including SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001
  • Cloud and hybrid IT support in partnership with Engineering
  • IT team leadership, operational discipline, and scalable processes

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on IT leadership experience in a medium to large size technology company (hundreds of employees), preferably with both hardware and software development
  • 15+ years of experience across IT operations, systems administration, and end-user support, including 5+ years in IT leadership
  • Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune
  • Strong Linux administration experience
  • Experience supporting macOS and Windows environments at scale
  • Experience with endpoint security, device management, patching, access controls, and network infrastructure
  • Proven experience supporting SOC 2 Type II and/or ISO 27001
  • Scripting and automation skills in Bash, PowerShell, and/or Python
  • Strong communication, documentation, and cross-functional leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in Information Security and/or AI infrastructure is a strong advantage
  • Startup or high-growth company experience
  • Experience supporting GPU/AI environments
  • Experience with EPDA/EDA environments
  • Relevant certifications in Microsoft, AWS, Linux, or Security
