Job Description

Job Purpose

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and motivated Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our team in an outpatient clinic setting. The APRN will deliver high-quality care through diagnosis, treatment, consultation, and patient education. This role serves as a primary healthcare provider, focusing on both acute and preventive care to improve long-term health outcomes for our diverse patient population.


Essential Functions

  • Deliver comprehensive patient care, including diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions.

  • Promote disease prevention and health education tailored to clinic populations.

  • Collaborate and consult with physicians, medical staff, and specialists to ensure coordinated care.

  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medication use, and healthy lifestyle practices.

  • Document all patient interactions accurately and confidentially in the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.

  • Participate in quality improvement and peer review processes.

  • Stay current with clinical best practices through ongoing education and training.

  • Comply with all organizational policies, procedures, and standards of care.

  • Attend required trainings, meetings, and conferences.

  • May supervise 1–4 Medical Assistants within the clinical team.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations.


Supervision

This position may provide supervision to 1–4 Medical Assistants as designated within the clinical team.


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing program.

  • Advanced degree and current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or equivalent.

  • Valid and unrestricted Florida medical license (e.g., RN, LVN, FNP).

  • Current BLS certification.


Preferred Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Family APRN.

  • Knowledge of JCAHO accreditation and compliance standards.

  • Familiarity with community health center environments and federal/state healthcare regulations.

  • Proficiency in electronic medical records and clinic operations.

  • Demonstrated excellence in clinical practice, protocols, and patient care strategies.
