Job Description

About the Department

This part-time position will:

  • Develops and delivers hands-on blueprint reading workshops focused on practical, multi-disciplinary application of construction drawings.
  • Deliver instruction across Architectural, Structural, Site, Civil, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical plans, ensuring learners gain practical knowledge of industry standards, symbols, and specifications.
  • Aim to bridge theory and practice, fostering confidence and accuracy in reading and utilizing technical drawings for construction personnel.
  • Guide learners through real-world scenarios and problem-solving exercises.
  • Have the capacity to adapt teaching methods to various experience levels and learning styles.


Position Duties

  • Develop and deliver instructional activities and exercises that reinforce the practical application of blueprint reading concepts.
  • Teach blueprint reading fundamentals across multiple construction disciplines.
  • Evaluate student learning and provide academic support, guidance, and constructive feedback.
  • Promote industry standards and best practices in construction documentation.
  • Foster a collaborative and interactive learning environment.
  • Assess course effectiveness and contribute to ongoing curriculum improvement and instructional method

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have professional experience in architecture, engineering, or construction-related fields. 
  • Must have knowledge of building codes, materials, and construction terminology.
  • Must be familiar with current industry standards, symbols, scales, and conventions used in blueprint reading.
  • Must be proficient in reading and interpreting multi-disciplinary construction drawings.
  • Strong instructional and presentation skills for delivering hands-on workshops.
