POSITION SUMMARY
The Houseperson supports the housekeeping team by maintaining clean and organized public areas and assisting with linens, supplies, and guest requests. This role helps ensure all guest-facing and back-of-house areas are well-maintained and contributes to a positive overall guest experience.
LOCATION: Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, New York, Wyoming
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Support Room Attendants by delivering linens, towels, amenities, and supplies to guest rooms and housekeeping carts
Strip and remove soiled linens from guest rooms and transport to laundry facilities
Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping storage areas, closets, and service corridors
Assist with cleaning and upkeep of public areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and back-of-house spaces
Replenish housekeeping carts and ensure adequate stock levels throughout shifts
Handle laundry operations during downtime, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens as needed
Respond promptly to guest and housekeeping requests, such as delivering extra towels or amenities
Assist with trash removal, recycling, and proper disposal procedures across the property
Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged items to the appropriate department
Follow all safety, sanitation, and brand standards to ensure a clean and well-maintained environment
Requirements
Must be able to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive motions.
Must be comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments, including the pool area.
The role involves working in various areas of the hotel, including public spaces, guest rooms, and the pool area.
Exposure to cleaning chemicals and outdoor weather conditions.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in housekeeping, hospitality, or a similar role is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to lift and move heavy items, including luggage.
Good communication skills and a friendly, helpful attitude.
Basic understanding of the English language (written and verbal).
