POSITION SUMMARY

The Houseperson supports the housekeeping team by maintaining clean and organized public areas and assisting with linens, supplies, and guest requests. This role helps ensure all guest-facing and back-of-house areas are well-maintained and contributes to a positive overall guest experience.

LOCATION: Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, New York, Wyoming



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

  • Support Room Attendants by delivering linens, towels, amenities, and supplies to guest rooms and housekeeping carts

  • Strip and remove soiled linens from guest rooms and transport to laundry facilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping storage areas, closets, and service corridors

  • Assist with cleaning and upkeep of public areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and back-of-house spaces

  • Replenish housekeeping carts and ensure adequate stock levels throughout shifts

  • Handle laundry operations during downtime, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens as needed

  • Respond promptly to guest and housekeeping requests, such as delivering extra towels or amenities

  • Assist with trash removal, recycling, and proper disposal procedures across the property

  • Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged items to the appropriate department

  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and brand standards to ensure a clean and well-maintained environment

Requirements

  • Must be able to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods. 

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive motions. 

  • Must be comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments, including the pool area. 

  • The role involves working in various areas of the hotel, including public spaces, guest rooms, and the pool area. 

  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and outdoor weather conditions.

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 

  • Previous experience in housekeeping, hospitality, or a similar role is preferred. 

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. 

  • Ability to lift and move heavy items, including luggage. 

  • Good communication skills and a friendly, helpful attitude.

  • Basic understanding of the English language (written and verbal).
