JOB SUMMARY

The IT Manager oversees local IT operations for a business unit, ensuring reliable day-to-day technology services while aligning with enterprise standards. This role manages site-based infrastructure and support, serves as the liaison to corporate IT, and implements enterprise initiatives to deliver secure and effective technology support.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience; and
  • 5 plus years’ of progressive experience in IT; with at least three years’ experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
  • Strong demonstration of a solid understanding of IT operations in a business environment.
  • Extensive hands-on technical proficiency across areas such as networking, Windows/Linux server administration, cloud services, and end-user computing.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure management, troubleshooting methodologies, and help desk ticketing systems is expected.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to quickly learn and implement new technologies or enterprise applications.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with both technical teams and non-technical end users, translating complex IT issues into clear guidance for employees and providing exemplary support.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and priorities, work independently when needed, and drive initiatives to completion within time and budget constraints.
  • Strong organizational skills and the capacity to juggle operational responsibilities with project execution are necessary.
  • A high level of integrity and accountability in handling sensitive information and ensuring systems security.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee all local IT operations, including network and server infrastructure, telecommunications, end‑user devices, hardware, and software, ensuring reliable, secure, and high‑performing systems across offices and job sites.
  • Lead and maintain a responsive local IT support function, providing effective end‑user support for company‑supported applications and devices, resolving issues promptly and escalating to enterprise IT as needed.
  • Provide training and guidance to end users on new systems and best practices to minimize downtime and ensure a consistent support experience aligned with enterprise service standards.
  • Implement and enforce IT security policies, data protection controls, and backup and recovery procedures, ensuring compliance with corporate cybersecurity standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits of local IT systems, identifying risks or non‑compliance and partnering with central security teams on identity and access management, incident response, and compliance initiatives.
  • Develop and execute local IT strategies and roadmaps that support business objectives while aligning with enterprise technology direction.
  • Partner with senior leadership to plan and manage the local IT budget, ensuring cost‑effective procurement and utilization of resources, including software licensing, contracts, and forecasting future technology needs.
  • Coordinate and lead local implementation of enterprise IT projects and initiatives, such as hardware refreshes, device migrations, software rollouts, and system upgrades, serving as the on‑site lead to ensure smooth execution with minimal disruption.
  • Prepare users and systems for technology transitions through communication, scheduling, and hands‑on support during rollouts.
  • Manage relationships with local IT vendors and service providers, including negotiation and oversight of contracts, warranties, subscriptions, and third‑party support, in alignment with enterprise procurement guidelines.
  • Lead and mentor local IT staff, fostering professional development and ensuring effective team performance.
  • Collaborate with local business leaders to understand operational needs and advise on technology solutions and improvements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the operating company and corporate IT, contributing site‑level insights to enterprise planning and ensuring enterprise solutions effectively support local operations.
