Head of Fund Accounting & Valuation - Conducting Officer - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
This is a great job for someone with prior extensive experience in accounting and valuation modelling or valuation review (UCITS, real estate, debt and infrastructure equity strategies).
A bit about the job:
As the Conducting Officer for Fund Accounting, Valuation and Finance, this individual will lead the oversight of asset valuation, fund accounting across both public and private market funds, and the financial reporting of the Management Company. They will ensure that all activities are delivered in line with CSSF regulations, UCITS law and AIFMD requirements, covering a diverse range of asset classes including real estate, infrastructure, debt funds, joint ventures, direct properties and liquid assets. This role includes managing and developing a high‑performing team, providing supportive line management, mentoring colleagues to uphold quality standards, and fostering a culture that reflects Aviva’s values. The role holder will make key decisions including approving and challenging asset valuations and NAVs, driving the migration and oversight of Fund Administration Delegates, and selecting and supervising independent appraisers and service providers where needed. They will also handle escalations relating to valuation discrepancies, breaches and operational risks, recommend valuation methodologies and accounting treatments, interpret complex investment documentation, and ensure full regulatory compliance across Fund Accounting, Valuation and Finance functions.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Professionally qualified accountant (ACCA or equivalent) with solid technical understanding in valuation principles for private market funds.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, Lux GAAP and the Luxembourg regulatory framework, with a deep understanding of AIFM governance obligations, public and private fund structures, and regulatory expectations
Demonstrated ability to act as a senior governance lead, building effective relationships with global service providers while ensuring appropriate challenge, oversight and risk management
Highly organised and delivery‑focused, able to manage multiple regulatory and operational priorities while producing clear, accurate and timely management and regulatory reporting
Experienced people leader with extensive team‑management experience and previous CSSF approval as a Conducting Officer.
