A Day in the Life of a Service Writer
As a Service Writer, you’re the connection between our customers and our service team.
A typical day includes welcoming customers, understanding their service needs, and making sure everything from work orders to communication with technician runs smoothly. You’ll keep customers informed, coordinate with your team, and help ensure equipment gets back up and running as quickly as possible.
Some days are fast-paced, others require problem-solving but every day gives you the opportunity to make a real impact.
Every day is different, but the goal is always the same: do the job right and take care of the customer.
What You’ll Do
As a Service Writer, you will:
- deliver a high-quality, professional experience at every stage of the service process
- support customers by clearly communicating service needs, timelines, and updates
- open, manage, and close work orders with accuracy and attention to detail
- coordinate with technicians and parts teams to keep work moving efficiently
- build strong relationships with customers and coworkers through clear communication and respect
- help ensure customers leave confident in the service they received

- customer service, administrative, or coordination experience
- strong communication and organizational skills
- basic computer skills
It’s a Plus if You Have:
- experience in service, automotive, or equipment environments
- general understanding of mechanical and technical terms
