Requirements

RNFA Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides first-assist support during surgical procedures, including assistance with liposuction, suturing and wound closure
  • Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical team members to ensure safe, efficient patient care
  • Performs preoperative assessments, verifies patient/procedure/site, and prepares operating room and equipment
  • Maintains sterile technique and responds appropriately to intraoperative needs and emergent situations
  • Monitors patient condition throughout procedures and communicates any concerns promptly to the surgical team
  • Assists in coordinating perioperative care with PACU, Sterile Processing, and other departments to ensure continuity of care
  • Documents intraoperative care, patient status, and all relevant clinical information accurately and timely
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory, safety, and infection prevention policies
  • Maintains accountability for attendance, required certifications, and completion of ongoing training programs

Education and Experience:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York
  • CNOR certification 
  • Completion of an accredited RNFA program (CRNFA certification a plus)
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills
  • Holds and maintains an active BLS and ACLS certification
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
