Job Summary/Basic Functions

The AACSB-accredited College of Business at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor of Accounting positions for academic year 2026-27. Applicants should hold a terminal degree in accounting (PhD, DBA, with emphasis in accounting, or a terminal degree in taxation) from an AACSB International accredited institution. ABD applicants may be considered with evidence of a scheduled doctoral defense that occurs no later than May prior to a Fall appointment and must have their doctoral degree awarded (verified by official transcripts) at the time of appointment. The position begins August 2026.

The primary responsibility will be teaching upper-level, in-person courses for undergraduate accounting majors in a workload consistent with the needs and priorities of the college and the institution. Excellence in, and a commitment to, teaching is essential. Opportunities may also be available to teach online or in the MBA program. Preference is given to candidates equipped to teach in more than one accounting area. Relevant credentials (e.g., CPA, CMA, other professional licenses and designations) are welcomed but not essential. In addition to teaching, conducting and publishing high-quality scholarly research and providing service to the profession, the University, and the business community consistent with EKU’s mission are required.

The University places a high priority on being leaders in the responsible use of artificial intelligence and in building such capacity in our students.
