Job Description:
SUMMARY: Lead and direct the Cost Accounting team supporting company-wide Cost Accounting activities. Partner with and provide close support to Operations, providing information and analysis on Manufacturing, Variances, and other Cost Accounting/Finance metrics. Give support to the Operations Finance team, with financial and administrative processes and with the planning.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage and execute the annual standard cost setting process across all Confluent Medical sites within Epicor or other ERP systems and prepare standard cost updates, costing of new products, and perform ad-hoc revaluations.
- Establish standard PRR and PSR rates, along with sku level Cost Books across all Confluent sites and support costing on new products including standard cost setups
- Review BOM’s and MOM’s to ensure data integrity and accuracy in set up and execution while tracking, reporting, and analyzing DL, material, and Overhead variances weekly and monthly
- Actively Partner with Engineering at all sites in the review of manufacturing bills of material and methods of manufacturing to ensure accuracy and proper, consistent costing.
- Prepare month end Journal entries in support of all site Operations, including working with Operations Finance in identification, preparing JE creation in Blackline, value-stream allocations and posting.
- Prepare monthly PVM calculations in conjunction with Commercial Finance
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly performance analysis and early warnings vs Budget and/or Forecast – PPV, Inventory adjustments, Mfg variances, inventory reporting, WIP reconciliations, aged inventory, cycle counts, MUV, material, productivity, efficiency, spend transactions, Sales GM rpt, etc.
- Review and analyze monthly variances to standard, providing management commentary on key drivers.
- Prepare F/X forecasting and reporting through Adaptive
- Support the development and analysis of the Annual Operations Plan and the monthly Forecasting process, providing key information and insight from the cost accounting area.
- Develop and implement process improvements, and document desktop procedures and processes to achieve efficiencies in the costing process.
- Collaborate on the design and implement of best in class systems, processes, and controls for cost accounting to support regulatory and accounting compliance.
- Maintain inventory valuations, prepare quarterly proposed inventory reserves & DOI calculations, Inventory Account reconciliations, reporting and analysis
- Continuously monitor inventory trends including changes in cost components of inventory and prepare monthly Capitalized Labor and Overhead entries and CMT-wide forecast
- Oversee cycle count activities and reporting and/or support physical inventory activities for all sites
- Support internal and external audit requests and testing around inventory reporting, valuation, and ad-hoc processes for all sites.

General supervision: Manage the daily activities of two cost accountants and conduct Cost Accounting duties with almost no supervision; establish standard practices or procedures allow proceeding alone at routine work.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor´s degree in Finance or Accounting. MBA and CPA will be considered a plus, also 5-7 years of experience in progressive accounting or finance roles within standard costing environment for medium to large manufacturer, medical device preferred but not required.
Supervision or management experience leading a team of cost accountants as a player /coach and mentor
Strong communicator across functional groups and geographical locations with the ability to train employees on processes and procedures.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically with Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Knowledge of ERP based costing and manufacturing transactional flows.
Experience with Epicor a plus, but not required. Knowledge of internal controls applicable to Purchasing, Inventory Management, and Cost Accounting activities.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Computer literacy is required, experience with ERP systems, Windows office package (i.e. Windows or similar).
Additional desired skills for the position: Knowledge of ISO, FDA, CE Mark standards. Knowledge of GAAP, NIC, NIIF standards. Knowledge of local legislation. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to deal with problems involving several and complex variables in different situations.
