Purpose of Position
Senior leader with accountability across the entire organization for the creation and execution of an Enterprise Data Strategy, including that data policies, governance and standards are applied consistently. The scope of work includes ensuring appropriate data architecture, use of data, governance and stewardship in a manner that meets the unique needs across our critical areas while leveraging our data assets for the betterment of the company.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Responsible for a comprehensive data roadmap and strategy that aligns to and drives to business outcomes
- Responsible for data architecture, lineage, storage location and lifecycle of data elements and objects
- Accountable for data architecture, including the definition of target data platforms and tools based on uses/needs for the data
- Advance the development of enterprise-wide data capabilities including analytics and reporting services by leading the implementation of target toolsets in a scalable and repeatable fashion
- Set strategic priorities for the function and identifies new business opportunities based on data
- Oversee and report on data metrics, including executive-level responsibility for all enterprise information/data management budgeting and initiatives
- Organize and implement policies, procedures, structures, roles, and responsibilities that outline and enforce rules of engagement, decision rights, and the accountabilities for the effective management of information assets.
- Design and implementation of DataOps best practices to support the data strategy
- Support data availability for Analytics, partnering with data analysis groups
- The creation of patterns and implementation for the collection, management, and storage of data
- Work with Cyber Security to implement data privacy policies and data classification that comply with data protection regulation
- Communicate the importance and value of data strategy to executives and business leaders
- Collaborate with the Executive Team to drive business transformation with data insights to generate business value and communicate results
- Make recommendations based on knowledge of current resources and industry leading technologies
- Build, develop and coach the team necessary to deliver on these outcomes
- Understand and communicate complex, technical, engineering issues to non-technical stakeholders

- 10+ years of experience with a successful track record working within an IT organization
- 5+ years of experience in a VP, SVP or Chief Data & Analytics position managing analytics, informatics and data teams
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Information Management, Information Systems, Systems Engineering or related technical field
- Excellent communication skills and a proven track record of successfully leading teams
- Strategic thinker with the ability to understand details and business value
- Strong leadership skills paired with a well-developed sense of management priorities
