Student teachers and Educational Staff Associate (ESA) Interns are a valuable asset to our teaching and learning community in Highline. A placement in our district will allow you an opportunity to put into action the skills you've learned in class and field work. Your internship is a time for you to build community with students, learn and grow from your mentor and demonstrate subject-matter knowledge necessary to successfully become a certified educator in Washington State. - Human Resources will review all completed applications to determine if the request is pre-approved or denied.
- Human Resources will coordinate/match approved interns with pre-approved Cooperating Mentors.
- Human Resources will confirm, or establish, institutional affiliate agreements.
- If you are a college/university field placement coordinator, please fill out our Request for Student Teaching/ESA Internships form here.
- If you are a Student Teaching/ESA Internship candidate, please submit an internship application; a completed student internship application is required to be considered for student internship placement. HR will review all completed applications, and accepted applicants will be pre-approved for a placement match. Please note pre-approval does not guarantee placement in our district.
- Applications submitted with less than a month's time to the start of your internship day are not guaranteed review or placement. Will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
