JOB TITLE – School Psychologist Intern


 GENERAL DESCRIPTION:


The School psychologist intern works with a supervising psychologist and is responsible for the identification, placement and follow-up of students referred for special education assessment  at a specific school site.  The school psychologist intern will also provide consultation to teachers and counseling of special education students under the supervision of supervising psychologist.


 EDUCATION:


Must meet the requirements for candidacy for Pupil Personnel Service Credential in School Psychology from an accredited institution.


 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


 Meet requirements for a psychologist internship through an accredited institution.


 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


 • Administer cognitive, adaptive, social-emotional, visual motor, auditory and academic tests.


 • Observe and conduct alternative assessments, complete and interpret the results in writing.


 • Participate and chair IEP meetings.


 • Participate in SST meetings.


 • Conduct three-year evaluations, write reports, and conduct the IEP meetings.


 • Observe students in a variety of settings.


 • Consult with teachers, administrators, parents and community resources regarding student in special  education as well as student in regular education.


 • Observe and conduct a functional behavior assessment or other behavior intervention.


 • Participate in a school program, such as crisis intervention team, develop 504 accommodations, and refer to outside agencies.               


WORK YEAR:


 Not to exceed 184 days.

Up to $20,000 annually
