Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Survey Technician Intern for a field-intensive seasonal position. As a Survey Technician Intern, you will have the opportunity to be involved in large, multi-discipline projects while developing diverse skill sets.

What are the core responsibilities for the role?

  • Work under the direction of Survey Crew Chief to accomplish daily tasks including, but not limited to:
    • Set up and operate GPS, total stations, data collectors, and other conventional survey equipment
    • Perform boundary, topographic, control, and construction layout surveys
  • Maintain accurate field notes and data records
  • Maintain survey equipment and vehicles
  • Follow all safety procedures and company standards

Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:

  • Pursuing a degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Basic understanding of survey principles, and familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and Trimble equipment/software is preferred
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot License is a plus
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods (potential for 40+ hour work weeks)
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on uneven terrain
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
  • Ability to obtain required safety certifications (MSHA)
