Job Description

Education:  High School Diploma or GED

Months/Years of Experience: Nine (9) years of applicable experience supporting engineering, design or testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization; or four (4) years of applicable college/vocational/military/technical school and five (5) years of applicable experience in the assigned specialty area; and the following additional requirements: Mechanical – At least eight (8) years of the nine (9) years of experience must include successful completion of vocational/military/technical school training in practical or industrial arts and a minimum of six (6) years of mechanical fabrication and structural/fixture setup supporting engineering or testing of military hardware.

Required Qualifications:  U.S. Citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.

Skilled Needed: Advanced knowledge of assembly and soldering electronic components on PCBs.

Duties: The Engineering Technician V performs advanced technical work supporting the Special Projects team, with a focus on printed circuit boards using surface mount and through-hole techniques in compliance with IPC J-Standard.  Building and testing chassis containing electronic and RF components such as filters, attenuators, and combiners.  Assembly and testing of RF connectors (BNC, N-type, TNC) onto cable assemblies.  Building and testing custom cables and wiring harnesses using military standard and commercial connectors; performing cable crimping, cutting, and finishing to specifications.  Use electronic test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, analyzers to help troubleshoot circuits in concert with division engineers. Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to support prototype development and continuous product improvement.
