Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Perform testing and certification of installed components 
  • Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair 
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown, and correct the problem
  • Inspect material for quality before installation 
  • Install network cable, Fire Alarm cable, Access Control, and wireless projects 
  • Pulling and routing cable in a commercial environment 
  • Terminating Jacks Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6A 
  • Perform daily tasks in a safe manner in accordance with company policies 
  • Must adhere to all health, safety, and company policies 
  • Demonstrate thorough familiarity with current client, company, and OSHA safety 
  • Must be able to work cooperatively and maintain a positive and professional manner 
  • Responsible for all other duties as assigned
  • Other job duties as assigned 
  • Employee may be required to work extended hours (more than 8 hours per day), weekends, and holidays. Employees will be compensated based on guidelines in the Fair Labor Standards Act. 

Qualifications and Requirements 

  • 4+ years’ experience in skilled electrical, low voltage work 
  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • ES-3J (preferred) 
  • ES-7J (preferred) 
  • Commscope Certified 
  • Nicet (preferred) 
  • BICSI Certification (preferred) 
  • Must be versatile with Fire Alarm, Telecommunications, and Access Control Systems 
  • Ability to read blueprints; and knowledge of electrical applications 
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques for performing skilled electrical work 
  • Methods and techniques for storing equipment, materials, and supplies 
  • Ability to work and communicate well in a team setting with a Safety First Mindset 
  • High school diploma or equivalent desired 
  • Must successfully complete and pass a background check and drug/alcohol testing 
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred 
  • Valid driver’s record preferred
