Job Description

ESY 2026


School Adjustment Counselor


1  Position Total - Preschool


 


Qualifications (Required): 



  1. Valid Massachusetts School Adjustment counselor

  2. Successful counseling experience. 

  3. Ability to relate /communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and administrators. 

  4. SAC’s must commit to being present for each day of the program. See dates below for more info.


Qualifications (Preferred):



  1. Experience working in the Malden Public Schools.


Duties and Responsibilities:



  1. Plan and implement schedules for related services on an IEP. 

  2. Complete planning logs for each session and maintain student attendance records. 

  3. Keep folders/portfolios with student work. 

  4. Perform other related activities as required by the program coordinator. 

  5. Develop Progress Reports at the end of the ESY Program.


Duration: 



  • Program Administration and Implementation 83 hours total to include the following: 


    • Professional In-service Days (Date TBD 3 hours).

    • 20 days, Monday-Thursday, from July 6 – August 6 (8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.). 



Stipend: $40 an hour, $3,320 total (20 days/4 hrs + 1 inservice at 3 hours)
