POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The House Manager provides front of house management for productions of the School of Visual and Performing Arts. This position manages front of house activities for productions, concerts, and other events as directed by the Director of Community Relations for the School of VPA. The House Manager coordinates work of student ushers and provide a safe and welcoming environment for event patrons.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Manage front of house operations as assigned.
- Manage student ushers.
- Facilitate safe and efficient movement of attendees.
- Welcome audience members.
- Provide oversight for the extent of each assigned performance/event.
- Monitor for and report any safety concerns, issues with audience members, or restocking concerns.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with theatrical productions and concert events
- Ability to manage ushers, audience experience, and overall event front of house logistics
- Well-developed social skills
