Over the course of five weeks, the intern will design and deliver engaging lessons for experienced young anglers, assist with weekly fishing excursions to local sites, and help ensure all equipment and materials are prepared and maintained. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine program development, outdoor education, and leadership in a fun, supportive environment. Start Date: May 26th or 27th (flexible); Program Dates: June 12, 19, 26 & July 10, 17.

  • Hands-On Instruction: Assist with and lead weekly fishing outings for youth (after 30 minute educational lesson), provide hands-on support with casting, baiting hooks, untangling messes, unhooking fish, and retying line. You will also be responsible for working with a team to ensure proper youth supervision and program success.

  • Equipment Management: Maintain, inventory, and repair fishing gear (rods, reels, tackle) and other fishing equipment.

  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all participants adhere to safety protocols, DNR fishing regulations, and boat safety (if applicable). Also assist with supervising all youth fishing program participants.
