Job Summary:

The Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery and pickup of packages to and from commercial locations. This role requires excellent driving skills, strong customer service abilities, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The driver will ensure timely and accurate deliveries while adhering to company policies and safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

Delivery and Pickup:

Safely operate a delivery truck to transport packages along designated routes.

Load and unload haul, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.

Accurately scan and track packages using handheld devices.

Deliver and pick up haul according to schedule, meeting delivery deadlines.

Obtain signatures and proof of delivery as required.

Route Management:

Follow assigned routes and adapt to changes in traffic or delivery schedules.

Utilize navigation systems and maps to optimize routes.

Maintain accurate delivery records and logs.

Report any route issues or delays to dispatch.

Vehicle Maintenance and Safety:

Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle.

Report any vehicle maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.

Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations.

Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.

Comply with all DOT regulations if applicable.

Customer Service:

Provide excellent customer service during deliveries and pickups.

Address customer inquiries and resolve any delivery issues.

Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor.

Handle customer complaints in a professional manner.

Other Duties:

Assist with warehouse duties as needed.

Attend safety meetings and training sessions.

Follow company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

Previous experience in package delivery or a similar driving role is preferred.

Proven safe driving record.

Skills:

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

CDL License required.

Ability to operate a delivery truck safely and efficiently.

Strong navigation and map reading skills.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Proficiency in using handheld scanning devices.

Knowledge of DOT regulations if applicable.
