We are looking for two motivated and result-driven summer trainees to join our Financial teams!

We are looking for two students from Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or of similar field to join us for the summer. Both trainee positions are located in our Headquaters Postitalo, in the very center of Helsinki. Please specify in your application which position piqued your interest especially.

The positions are fixed-term trainee positions, starting mid-May and lasting until the end of August, and can be further defined with the suitable candidate. This is an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your career and gain hands-on experience in the financial field of a listed company!

As a trainee in our Group Finance team, you will join our Group Financial Controlling team responsible for consolidation and external reporting of Posti Group. You’ll support our group accounting and reporting specialists and get to cooperate with internal stakeholders during the summer vacation period.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Machinery and vehicles lease agreement updates to our IFRS 16 lease calculation tool
  • Analyzing the data to define other lease accounting change needs in addition to new contracts  
  • Documentation of the update process and writing the instructions for future use
  • Further developing and simplifying the update process
  • Other auxiliary tasks related to group accounting and reporting defined by the team

To succeed in this position, we hope that you have:

  • Studies in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or similar
  • Basic understanding of financial accounting and reporting
  • Ability to understand big picture and underlying details, and to ask questions
  • Hands-on working style with a productive mindset
  • Good technical skills and confidence in working with Excel and financial systems
  • Knowledge of any financial system is considered a plus
  • Fluency both in written and spoken Finnish and English (professional working proficiency)

As a trainee in the Record to Report team, you’ll support our finance team in Finland and get to cooperate with internal stakeholders from several units during the summer vacation period. This is an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your career and gain hands-on experience in the field of finance and accounting.

Main Responsibilities:

  • External reporting process analysis & documentation, including improvement proposals
  • Internal accounting process development support (description, templates)
  • Support with quarter closing & reporting activities
  • Record to Report data cleaning
  • Communicating with internal stakeholders beyond team borders

To succeed in this position, we hope that you have:

  • Studies in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or similar
  • Basic understanding of financial accounting and reporting
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel required - pivot tables, formulas, data handling)
  • Analytical mindset with interest in process development
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (experience with SAP S/4HANA is a plus)
  • Ability to work independently and in a structured manner
  • Fluency both in written and spoken Finnish and English (professional working proficiency)
