Position Summary
The Deployment Specialist reports to the Information Technology Infrastructure Manager. This position is responsible for enterprise end user device deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management with a strong focus on Microsoft Intune, SCCM, and security hardening standards. This role ensures that all endpoints are deployed using standardized images, configuration profiles, compliance baselines, and patching policies to meet organizational security and operational requirements.
The Deployment Specialist works closely with Technology Operations, Information Security, and project teams to support device upgrades, new implementations, and large-scale technology initiatives while maintaining a secure, reliable end user computing environment.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and manage end user devices using Microsoft Intune and SCCM
- Build, maintain, and optimize standardized device images and deployment task sequences
- Create, test, and maintain PowerShell and deployment scripts for automation and configuration
- Implement and enforce endpoint security hardening in alignment with organizational and industry standards
- Apply device compliance policies, configuration profiles, and security baselines through Intune/SCCM
- Perform operating system and application patching to support vulnerability management and security posture
- Stage and preconfigure devices to ensure readiness for production deployment
- Support large scale device refreshes, project-based deployments, and clinical/operational go- lives
- Troubleshoot imaging, enrollment, compliance, and post-deployment configuration issues
- Validate devices for security compliance prior to handoff to operational support teams
- Maintain accurate documentation of deployment processes, standards, and configurations
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree, technical degree, or equivalent experience in Information Technology preferred
- Licensure and Certifications: CompTIA Security+ or equivalent preferred. Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Intune, or related certifications preferred
- Experience:
- Demonstrated experience managing endpoints using Intune and/or SCCM
- Hands-on experience with device imaging, task sequences, and Windows configuration
- Experience applying security hardening and compliance policies in an enterprise environment
- Experience supporting patching and endpoint vulnerability remediation
- Healthcare IT experience preferred
Work Environment: This position spends approximately 70-80% of time in a standard office or staging environment performing deployment preparation, configuration, and validation activities. The remaining time may involve standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying equipment up to 50 pounds during deployments and device refresh initiatives.
