Description

  

Setup and operate CNC Bridge-mill to produce large, machined components per print specifications. Will be required to machine parts varying in size from up to 5000 pounds and over 124’’ in width and 200’’ in length. 


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC Bridge-Mill to produce large complex machined components per print 
  • Properly inspect/verify tooling before loading into machine
  • Interpret and work from complex blueprints, job travelers, and set up sheets
  • Inspect weldments thoroughly prior to machining to gain the understanding as to where the machine stock is and establish constants 
  • Inspect parts throughout the manufacturing process
  • Maintain an organized work area, keep tooling and equipment clean
  • Perform machine maintenance as required 
  • Ability to effectively lift large parts/weldments up to 5000 pounds using crane and forklifts 
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience CNC machining large weldments in a low-volume high-mix application
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience utilizing overhead crane and material handling of large parts weighting over 1500 pounds 
  • Extensive knowledge of set-up, work-holding, and fixturing specific to large parts 
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and perform in-process inspection 
  • Ability to help trouble shoot machining anomalies such as bowing, warping, and tool deflection 
  • Specialized knowledge of 5 face milling applications is a plus but not required 
  • Must know how to read and edit G and M code and be familiar with Fanuc based controls
