Job Description

Job Summary:

Coordinate and provide academic and social instruction to support the educational programming of special education students with autism, emotional disturbance, or other exceptionalities residing at Foundations Behavioral Health. Prepare lessons and implement provided curricular materials according to students’ IEPs. Review student documents and coordinate progress monitoring materials as needed for selected IEP goals. Assist students’ in completion of progress monitoring tools, collect essential data, and participate in analysis of student progress during his/her admission.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Independently supervise and direct support staff.
  • Lesson planning for varied, transient special education
  • Data collection, classroom management.
  • High energy level and ability to communicate effectively across a variety of team members including parents. 
  • Progress monitoring/data interpretation
  • Able to produce quality/timely educational documents that address current (setting, i.e.) educational needs and requirements based on the student, best practices and other pertinent variables.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Must be available to work Monday through Thursday

 

Travel:  No travel is involved with this position.


Education and Experience:

Level of Degree:

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's Degree
  • PA Special Education Certification

 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience working with students with Autism, Emotional Disturbance, and/or other health impairments.
  • Experience working in educational settings with professional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with trauma-informed care/decision-making
  • Flexibility in working with an often-changing caseload
  • Understanding of the IEP revision process & progress monitoring 

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable):  Citizenship or work authorization to work in the United States required.
