    Position Summary
    The Director of Teaching and Learning will provide leadership and guidance to all school sites by
    ensuring measurable academic improvement, data management, and leadership within the Special
    Education, English Language Learning, Gifted and Talented and Library Sciences departments. This
    role designs and develops plans utilizing data to improve or eliminate the existing barriers students and
    teachers experience to produce successful outcomes. Organize federal and state program dollars to
    maximum benefit for all students. Work collaboratively with district partners to improve quality and
    access to resources.

    Job Responsibilities
    1. Provides leadership to establish and maintain an instructionally effective school.
    2. Assists the building principals in selecting, assigning, and evaluating school staff following District policies and procedures.
    3. Analyze data regarding student academic status and develop plans for success.
    4. Collaborate with Special Education instructional staff to develop individualized education plans to meet the needs of all students and ensure compliance with all state, federal, and local requirements.
    5. Applies techniques to ensure that all individuals with exceptional needs are appropriately identified, assessed, and provided with appropriate Gifted and Special education programs and
    services designed to meet their unique needs.
    6. Coordinate aspects of the accreditation process, including but not limited to, preparing materials, editing reports, and maintaining records.
    7. Support Library Staff to ensure the library contributes effectively to the delivery of the curriculum and support pupils to develop skills necessary to make effective use of resources.
    8. Manage all activities related to student enrollment, assessment, goal setting, personal education planning, and instruction for English language Learners (ELL).
    9. Actively participates in the deliberations and classification of ELL students and leads in the planning, coordinating, developing, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the ELL
    program.

    10. Support teachers and administrators in using data to improve instruction on all levels using the System Wise approach.
    11. Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to improve teacher practice.
    12. Analyzes teacher practice through ongoing classroom observations, data analysis, and examination of student work through PLC's.
    13. Collaborates with Guidance Counselors to monitor student academic progress and facilitate testing processes at all levels. .
    14. Supervise and evaluate the performance of the site Principals, including Early Childhood
    15. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools


    Qualifications
    ? Master's Degree
    ? Successful professional experience in educational administration
    ? In-depth knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding Title II, Title VI, special education, and related services
    ? Knowledge of curriculum and program development
    ? Knowledge of all areas of child exceptionality
    ? Ability to provide leadership in planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the special education program
    ? Ability to communicate effectively
    ? Ability to develop and promote professional staff relationships
    ? Ability to develop and maintain positive parent and community relationships
    ? Ability to effectively organize and manage time
    ? Ability to move quickly with limited guidance
