Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and culturally sensitive Spanish-speaking Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team at Shema Kolainu-Hear Our Voices (SKHOV) in Brooklyn or Queens, New York. As a DSP, you will play a vital role in supporting children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related developmental disabilities in our school and community-based programs. Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to children with ASD and related developmental disabilities in our school and community-based programs

  • Assist with daily living skills, such as personal care, feeding, and toileting

  • Implement individualized behavioral support plans and strategies to promote independence and inclusion

  • Communicate effectively with children, staff, and families to ensure a smooth transition between home and school settings

  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills

  • Maintain accurate records and communicate with families regarding daily activities and behaviors

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required

  • 1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull equipment and supplies as needed

  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license (if applicable)
