POSITION: 123-CLS-04-26

Contract Specialist - Maintenance and Operations

8.0 hours per day/260 days per year*

Salary Schedule:  $24.52 - $26.98 per hour

*Days prorated from start date


Position Summary

The Maintenance & Operations Contract Specialist tracks budget spending  and is responsible for public works procurement, and compliance with state regulations such as the Small Works Roster and AHERA standards. Also responsible for oversight of the district’s work-order and utility tracking systems while managing the competitive bidding process for custodial supplies and specialized facility services. Additionally, the position handles vendor relations, dispatching maintenance personnel and providing essential administrative support for the Director.

Qualifications

  • AA Degree/ two years of college or relevant experience in contracting, procurement, purchasing or related field. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Knowledge or experience with state compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of state bid laws and procurement strongly preferred. 
  • Knowledge of Google office systems, Excel, district and operations systems, strongly preferred.
  • Attendance and punctuality are important in this position. 
  • Ability to maintain professionalism with a diverse group of staff, contractors, state agencies and community members.
  • Must successfully pass the required background check.
