Role Responsibilities:
This role is primarily responsible for the timely and accurate month end reporting of the Facilities Function within the EMEA Region including:
Full ownership and reconciliation of the Lease accounting for all the EMEA region under IFRS16 Accounting Standards.
Assisting with month end processes including the preparation of a flash, full provision of accruals and prepayments, review of headcount and staff costs, and commentary on actuals vs. Budget/Forecast and Prior year variances.
Manage the Facilities related Accruals and Prepayments across the EMEA regions, working closely with colleagues within the team and stakeholders across the business.
Production of Annual Forecast and Budgets for the Facilities function across all regions, will require working closely with local Function Heads and Group Finance.
Production of monthly Management Accounts for the Facilities function, providing insightful commentary on actual costs vs forecast/budget variances.
Work with other members of the team and the wider EMEA Finance to ensure all controls are fit for purpose with monthly reconciliations and substantiations appropriately, prepared documented and recorded in Trintech.
Approval of the Facilities Purchase Orders, including chart of accounts coding advise to Procurement to ensure purchases are accounted for correctly ( i.e. CAPEX vs OPEX )
Review existing month end processes for opportunities to automate and improve in partnership with Finance systems IT.
Assist with managing Intercompany reconciliations with counterparts at month end.
Year-end/Half year reporting, which will include preparation of support for Group additional disclosures and assisting with External Audit requests.
Provide support and analysis to any ad hoc requests from Finance management.
Through cross training, be able to provide support to team members.
Competencies
Basic knowledge of IFRS 16 Accounting Standard.
Basic knowledge of Fixed Asset Accounting Standards IAS16 / IAS38
Basic knowledge of and Prepayment accounting requirements.
Basic knowledge VAT
Personal organizational skills including multi-tasking, prioritization and delivery.
Excellent written and oral communication skills at all levels of the organization.
Conscientious, self-motivated, resilient, goal oriented and able to work autonomously with minimal daily supervision.
Excellent attention to detail, quality and control and understanding the impact the role has on the wider business.
Hands approach, working and supporting other areas of the team as needed.
Ability to react to changing requirements and adjust process and approach.
Skilled in applications such as Oracle, Excel, SmartView/ASO, Hubble and OneStream
Solid attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience / Competencies:
This role would suit a results motivated, numerate, part qualified accountant with good attention to detail and able to work independently following logical steps and processes
The candidate should be a proactive team player with the ability to communicate at all levels.
The role will require strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to analyse large amounts of data with excel formula
Experience with Oracle would be beneficial
