Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:
 

The Graduate Assistant for the Belmont Office of Leadership Development (BOLD) seeks to focus on the professional and personal development of the candidate, while creating tangible results for the specific areas of the Division of Student Affairs in which the individual is working. The position reports to the Associate Dean of Students, Leadership & Engagement through the Assistant Director of Leadership Development and collaborates with various offices across campus. The Graduate Assistant will work 20 hours a week from August to May and serve as a para-professional in BOLD. Regular evaluation will be provided to the Graduate Assistant by the direct supervisor related to the work progress and personal performance.

POSITION PURPOSE

The primary purpose of this position is for the graduate assistant (GA) to assist and support the Associate Dean of Students, Leadership & Engagement and the Assistant Director of Leadership Development in BOLD in overseeing all aspects of the Belmont Office of Leadership Development programs, activities, and assessment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Provide general administrative support to BOLD and GOLD- Graduate Opportunities in Leadership Development Programs.
· Assist with the daily input, maintenance, and upkeep of co-curricular transcript data and reports within the Bruin Link database and BOLD website.
· Provide student, faculty, and staff support in regards to tracking campus-wide leadership development opportunities and progress within Bruin Link.
· Assist with the planning and implementation of all BOLD opportunities including but not limited to training, convocation, conferences, workshops, and student mentoring.
· Assist with the creation and distribution of BOLD marketing materials, and web/graphic design (preferred but not required).
· Attend and provide timely support for the execution of evening and weekend workshops, conferences, and events.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to speak and hear sufficiently to communicate effectively by phone or in person at normal volumes. The employee’s vision must be adequate to read correspondence, computer screen, forms, etc. The position requires good manual dexterity. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing as necessary.





The selected candidate will be required to complete a background check satisfactory to the University.
