About the Department
JOB OBJECTIVE: To perform a wide variety of maintenance and repair services on automotive vehicles, heavy duty trucks and various construction equipment to include dozers, excavators, forklifts and related equipment.
This position is designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening.

Minimum Qualifications
These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through completion of a standard high school course and/or vocational school courses in automotive mechanics, and one (1) year of work experience as an automotive mechanic or mechanic assistant. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position and must possess a valid Arkansas Class B (Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License within ninety (90) days of employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.
- Must possess the tools required for this position by the Department of Fleet Services within thirty (30) days of employment and maintain required tools in working condition for the duration of employment in this position.
- Must be available to work nights, holidays, and weekends and respond to emergency calls as required.
