Human Resource Director (HR)
Lakewood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center | Full-Time | Day Shift | On-Site

What You’ll Do

As the Human Resource Director, you will serve as the facility’s HR leader—overseeing all aspects of human resources while supporting department heads and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.

Recruitment & Staffing

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and ensure adequate coverage
  • Maintain applicant tracking systems and personnel files in compliance with regulations
  • Coordinate pre-employment requirements including background checks, physicals, and verifications

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Foster a positive, supportive workplace culture that promotes retention and engagement
  • Counsel and guide management on employee relations matters, including performance and discipline
  • Oversee employee recognition, engagement initiatives, and facility culture programs
  • Conduct exit interviews and monitor trends to improve retention

Compliance & Administration

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and healthcare regulations
  • Maintain confidentiality of all employee records and HR-related information
  • Oversee personnel file management, documentation, and HR reporting
  • Support survey readiness and participate in plans of correction as needed

Training & Development

  • Coordinate and oversee orientation and ongoing in-service education programs
  • Support leadership development and performance evaluation processes
  • Encourage professional growth and continuing education among staff

Operations & HR Oversight

  • Monitor attendance, PTO tracking, and employee records
  • Assist with workers’ compensation claims and unemployment processes
  • Support payroll processes and HR-related reporting
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and facility committees

What We’re Looking For

  • High School Diploma required; college coursework or degree preferred
  • Previous HR experience in healthcare, SNF, or LTC setting strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with leadership
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Proficiency with HR systems and basic computer applications
