Job Description

Overview of position:



FEDITC is seeking a Network Engineer II to join our team in the Texarkana, TX area. This role is critical to maintaining and supporting Red River Army Depot’s (RRAD) advanced IT and communication systems. The selected candidate will provide end-user technical support, perform system maintenance, and ensure the proper configuration of specialty applications and equipment. Responsibilities include managing and repairing Motorola-based Land Mobile Radios (LMRs), troubleshooting hardware and connectivity issues, and assisting with LMP-connected hardware and software. This position requires a proactive professional capable of working closely with Government personnel to ensure compliance with Army and FCC regulations.



A United States Citizenship and an active Secret DoD Security Clearance is required to be considered for this position.



Responsibilities:




  • Perform general maintenance and repairs to RRAD-owned ADP equipment

  • Augment Government personnel by providing end-user technical support for factory-floor applications and LMP-connected hardware used by RRAD production personnel, including LMP utilization and issue management visibility reporting for RRAD managers

  • Ensure computers used by production personnel are properly configured with specialty applications relevant to the installation environment, such as the Electronic Technical Manuals (ETM) interface

  • Perform live and remote-desktop troubleshooting to isolate user-reported problems with systems and installed LMP-connected applications.

  • Trace and resolve hardware and connectivity issues related to LMP-controlled printers and data acquisition equipment, such as bar-code scanners and RFID interrogators

  • Assist all RRAD users with online Employee-Self-Service (ESS) time entry and review LMP ZCAT2 transaction codes to recover missing time and attendance information

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs to land-mobile radios (LMRs)

  • Augment Government personnel assigned to the RRAD Integrated Technology Division to maintain RRAD’s fleet of vehicle-mounted and handheld Motorola Land-Mobile Radios (LMRs), consisting of approximately 650 handheld and 50 vehicle-mounted radios

  • Administer and manage Motorola-based Land Mobile Radio System hardware, software, and infrastructure components, including application software, processing platforms, executive software, gateways, and local area network connections to radio equipment

  • Configure radios for use by all RRAD installation tenants, install radio sets and components into Government-owned vehicles, repair radio handsets and equipment, troubleshoot radio problems, and assist radio users with technical inquiries

  • Record radio user and spectrum information in accordance with RRAD procedures and provide this information to RRAD Integrated Technology Division personnel to ensure compliance with Army and FCC regulations for LMR systems




  • Obtain and install radio repair parts, log and perform repairs, and ensure compliance with other terms of the Contract without purchasing complete radios

  • Perform other support duties as needed or directed
