Position Overview

Heritage Grove Estates is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Laundry Aide / Housekeeping Aide to support our environmental services team. This role plays a vital part in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and comfortable environment while ensuring residents’ personal laundry and facility linens are handled with care and efficiency.

In this dual-role position, you will be responsible for both laundry operations and housekeeping duties, directly contributing to infection prevention, resident dignity, and overall quality of life. Your work ensures residents feel at home in a well-maintained, respectful, and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities

Laundry Aide Functions

  • Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident laundry and facility linens in a timely and organized manner

  • Ensure proper handling of personal resident items to prevent loss or damage

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of laundry areas and equipment

  • Monitor linen and laundry supply levels and restock as needed

  • Follow all infection control and linen handling protocols

Housekeeping Functions

  • Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and common areas in accordance with facility standards

  • Perform routine housekeeping tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and waste removal

  • Maintain cleanliness of high-touch surfaces to support infection prevention and resident safety

  • Restock supplies such as paper products, hygiene items, and cleaning materials

  • Follow daily cleaning schedules and complete assignments thoroughly and efficiently

General Responsibilities

  • Safely use and handle cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with safety guidelines

  • Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or supply shortages to appropriate personnel

  • Interact with residents respectfully and professionally, supporting a positive environment

  • Ensure proper waste disposal and adherence to environmental and safety standards

  • Follow all facility policies, infection control protocols, and regulatory requirements

  • Support team members and assist with additional housekeeping or laundry duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Previous housekeeping, laundry, or environmental services experience preferred, especially in healthcare or long-term care settings

  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures, sanitation practices, and infection control standards

  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks efficiently

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

  • Dependable, reliable, and punctual

  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, bending, lifting, and walking for extended periods
