Centra Health is seeking a Neonatology Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join our highly respected Level III NICU team at Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg, VA. Responsibilities

You Can Expect

  • Schedule: 0.90 clinical FTE (24-hour shift model; 1,728 hours annually)
  • Team Model: 1 Neonatologist + 1 NNP per shift
  • NNPs conduct daily rounds; neonatologist provides leadership, assessments, and plan collaboration
  • Supported by highly tenured nursing staff, respiratory therapist, lactation consultants, and more
  • Unit: Licensed for 13 beds, 4 pods | Avg. census: 10-13
  • Accuity: Level III (B) – 26 weeks and up, ventilation, no surgical cases onsite
  • Case Types / Volumes: Care for a wide range of neonatal conditions within a busy Level III NICU; delivery room coverage for at-risk infants + average of 2,600 deliveries annually
  • Collaboration: Work closely with board-certified neonatologists, pediatric subspecialists, OB/GYN partners, maternal-fetal medicine, and a multidisciplinary NICU team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing with Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certification
  • National board certification as an NNP
  • Current or eligible Virginia NP license 
  • Experience in Level III or Level IV NICU strongly preferred; new graduates considered with strong NICU RN background
