    Position Title: S.O.A.R. Center Program Manager
    Department: Peoria Alternative Education | Educational Services
    Supervisor: Director of Alternative Education
    Term of Employment: 186 School Calendar plus 20 extra days
    Salary Classification: Classified Exempt 8

    Purpose: The S.O.A.R. Center Program Manager contributes to implementation of the Peoria Unified dropout recovery program by helping students remain engaged, earn credits, and progress toward completion of their educational goals. This role works closely with the Peoria Flex Academy (PFA) Program Coordinator, teacher mentor, school personnel, community partners, and appropriate services to monitor student progress, coordinate resources, and address barriers impacting persistence. This role is instrumental to the marketing strategies implemented both within and outside the district to ensure Peoria Unified meets the needs of every student. This role is responsible for coordinating the on-boarding process for each student and working with counselors, records personnel, and guidance departments to ensure appropriate placement in coursework.

    Key Responsibilities

      1. Student Engagement & Program Participation

    • Facilitate student enrollment meetings along with school counselor and mentor teacher to establish program expectations and orient students to pathways toward completion
    • Maintain consistent contact with students through phone, text, email, virtual, and in-person communication to reinforce Monthly Satisfactory Progress MSP Monthly Process participation and address barriers to progress
    • Conduct follow-up outreach and guide students in navigating program expectations, schedules, and available resources

      2. Progress Monitoring & Credit Tracking

    • Monitor (MSP) Monthly Process participation, student progress, and credit attainment
    • Collaborate with teachers to verify completed coursework and facilitate grade reporting
    • Enter and maintain earned credit information and program documentation in accordance with district procedures and timelines 

      3. Collaboration & Communication

    • Communicate student status, trends, and concerns with the PFA Program Coordinator and Teacher Mentor
    • Coordinate scheduling, reminders, and follow-up related to program participation
    • Work with school personnel and community partners to connect students with appropriate resources
       

      4. Data & Program Reporting

    • Maintain accurate data related to student engagement, MSP Monthly Process progress, and credit attainment
    • Contribute to required program reporting by ensuring timely and accurate information entry
    • Identify participation patterns and elevate barriers impacting student progress
    • Gather and prepare data to support Alternative State Reporting requirements, including Alternative A�F State Letter Grade measures and Alternative Education application processes
       

      5. Wraparound & Student Resource Coordination

    • Identify students eligible for McKinney-Vento services and coordinate required resources in accordance with district procedures
    • Connect students with employment, postsecondary exploration, and workforce readiness resources in coordination with the PFA Program Coordinator
    • Maintain student resource systems such as the campus food pantry and clothing closet, including inventory tracking and donation coordination
    • Participate in community-based program activities as needed
    • Participate in outreach and program awareness efforts that promote the SOAR program within the district and community, including assisting with recruitment activities, informational events, and communication with students, families, and partner organizations
    • Other duties as assigned.
       

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Valid Arizona teaching certificate OR eligibility for an Arizona Teaching Certificate
    • Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in dropout recovery programs or alternative education
    • OR an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
       

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working with youth or young adults in education, mentoring, workforce development, or related programs
    • Experience with MSP monthly process monitoring, credit recovery, re-engagement, or transcript tracking
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks, communicate effectively, and follow through
    • Experience with student information systems, data entry, or progress monitoring tools
    • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to dropout recovery programs
    • Ability to build relationships that promote student persistence and accountability
       

    Other Requirements

    • Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card and ability to pass a background check
    • Valid government-issued ID and driver's license
    • Ability to travel as required to perform job duties
    • Adherence to professional standards within a school or program environment
    • Perform other duties as assigned
