Summer Band Staff � Pipestone Area Schools

JOB DESCRIPTION
Pipestone Area Schools is seeking qualified and motivated individuals to serve as Summer Band Staff under the direction of the Director of Bands. Staff will support both the marching band program (field and parade) and beginning band instruction during the summer months.

Instructional areas may include:

• Woodwinds
• Brass
• Percussion
• Colorguard 

Staff will work with students across a wide range of ages and ability levels, contributing to a positive, structured, and high-achieving learning environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience performing in and/or teaching concert band, marching band, or colorguard
• Ability to effectively teach and engage students of varying skill levels and ages
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Positive, energetic, and professional demeanor
• Ability to collaborate within a team-oriented environment
• Ability to successfully pass a background check

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with rehearsals for marching band (field and parade)  
• Provide instruction for beginning band students in assigned area(s)
• Support student learning through clear instruction, feedback, and modeling
• Maintain a positive and professional rehearsal environment
• Follow direction and collaborate with the Director of Bands and staff
• Uphold the standards, expectations, and traditions of the Pipestone Band program 

SCHEDULE:
Hours will vary based on area of expertise and program needs. Staff will be scheduled for specific rehearsals, sectionals, and instructional blocks throughout the summer.

COMPENSATION:

• Hourly rate: $13 � $30 per hour, based on experience. Benefits include Earned Safe and Sick Leave.

The Pipestone Band program has a long-standing tradition of excellence. Staff are expected to maintain a high standard of teaching, professionalism, and commitment to student growth, while contributing positively to the culture and success of the program.

SUPERVISION:
Summer Band Staff report directly to the Director of Bands.
